Soft tissue musculoskeletal pain
This includes pain in muscles, tendons and ligaments (typical of strains and sprains) and the bursa pads cushioning the space between bones, and is more painful when the associated joint is moved.7 Fybromyalgia is when soft muscle pain is more widespread, and can be associated with cognitive changes, sleep disturbances, restless leg syndrome and irritable bowel syndrome.12,13
