The General Pharmaceutical Council has launched its first ever survey of technician pre-registration training.
The GPhC wrote to all pharmacy technicians who joined the register between November 2014 and October 2015 on October 21, asking them to take part in the survey. This forms part of a three-year project that started in 2013 and is aimed at improving the Council's understanding of key trends, issues and themes in pre-registration training of pharmacy professionals.
GPhC chief executive Duncan Rudkin said: €This survey will help us to build a greater understanding of the experiences of pharmacy technician trainees, so everyone involved in their training can consider how to improve their training and the support they receive. The results will help inform ongoing discussions about pre-registration training for pharmacy technicians and ensure that any changes we make in the future are based on the best available evidence.€
The survey's findings will be released in summer 2016.
