Lovima is Maxwellia’s new pharmacy (P) brand of desogestrel (75mcg) – the most widely prescribed progestogen-only contraceptive pill.

Lovima is indicated for women of childbearing age, a blood pressure check is not necessary (although may be offered if available, as part of a general healthcheck).

Lovima can be taken by women currently using any other contraceptive method, as first supply or switching from any other hormonal contraception, including the combination pill (COC) and emergency contraception following a pharmacist consultation.
