Pharmacy teams may see more customers presenting with blocked or muffled ears during festival season.

GP Dr Roger Henderson and Earex spokesperson warns that even one weekend of loud music can cause hearing damage, with sound levels at many festivals exceeding 100 decibels; enough to permanently damage the inner ear's hair cells.

Dr Henderson advises against cotton buds, recommending gentle ear drops instead.
