Pharmacist Support is to run a week-long campaign to help pharmacy trainees prepare for this summer’s registration assessment.
The charity said it will provide resources and activities so trainees can manage anxious thoughts, get sufficient sleep, prepare for a career in pharmacy and manage their money.
The campaign runs from May 25 to June 1 and is being supported by Boots, Well Pharmacy and the Pharmacists’ Defence Association.
Pharmacist Support also said it will run a workshop and panel discussion in conjunction with those organisations to help trainees get mentally prepared for the assessment and answer any questions they have.
“Every year the charity sees a large spike in contact from trainees around assessment time, and over the years has experienced a gradual shift and rise in enquiries from those in the early stages of their pharmacy career,” said Pharmacist Support chief executive Danielle Hunt (pictured).
“Having a campaign dedicated to supporting this group during this particularly challenging time will, we hope, help them manage these pressures and worries and feel better equipped for the journey ahead. It is also our hope that the campaign will stimulate open conversations around mental health and assist those involved in their training to enable this to happen.”
