Pharmacy contractors need to submit claims for NHS referrals for minor illness and urgent medicines supply or for clinical pathway consultations at the month end via the NHSBSA Manage Your Service (MYS) portal.1

Consultations will attract a fee of £15 each. Reimbursement costs for any supplied medicine/appliance following a referral for an urgent medicine supply will be in accordance with Part II, Clause 8 (Basic Price) of the Drug Tariff. Clinical pathway medicine reimbursement will be subject to Part II Clauses 8, 10 and 13, Part IV and Part V, with the reimbursement price based on the Part VIII generic price.

An additional monthly fee of £1,000 is available for pharmacy contractors achieving a set number of consultations each month. The number of clinical pathway consultations required to claim this fee rises from one in February 2024 to a minimum of 30 a month from October 2024 and beyond.

An initial fixed payment of £2,000 was available for contractors signing up to the NHS Pharmacy First Service between December 1 2023 and January 30 2024 (the period between the CPCS being suspended and the introduction of the PSF). This fee will be recovered from contractors who have not delivered at least five clinical pathway consultations by March 31 2024.
