As of December 2024, the ranking of most to least common conditions for a PFS consultation was:¹

• ·       acute sore throat (a total of 545,375 consultations, having fluctuated between around 41,000 to almost 98,000 consultations a month);

• ·       uncomplicated urinary tract infections (totalling 546,724, climbing steadily from 32,678 in February to 55,724 in December);

• ·       acute otitis media (a total of 234,552 ranging from a summer low of 15,680 in June to 37,971 in December);

• ·       sinusitis (totalling 210,589, showing a similar patter to acute otitis media but with a low of 8,788 in August and a high of 31,911 in December);

• ·       infected insect bites (totalling 193,739, being in the low 1,000s in the winter months but peaking at over 44,000 in August);

• ·       impetigo (a total of 75,750 cases only surpassing 10,000 a month in November and December);

• ·       shingles (totalling 53,104 consultations and ranging between 4,000 and 5,500 per month).
