A young woman has presented an empty pack  of Canesten Thrush Oral Capsule (fluconazole) to your medicines counter assistant and wants to buy a pack. The assistant asks her if she has had it before. She replies no but it has been recommended to her by her friend who recently had an attack of thrush, and she thinks that she now has it. The assistant refers the woman to you.  On questioning, the symptoms the young woman describes are classically those of vaginal candidiasis.
