ADHD is considered a lifelong condition, so people will not grow out of it. However, by learning to manage symptoms effectively, there may come a point where symptoms do not meet the ADHD criteria.6
NICE recommends that a healthcare professional with training and expertise in managing ADHD should review ADHD medication at least once a year and discuss with the person with ADHD (and their families or carers as appropriate) whether medication should be continued.1
