LloydsPharmacy launches 'community immunity' flu campaign
A ‘community immunity’ marketing campaign has been launched by LloydsPharmacy to help support its flu vaccination programme this winter, and to encourage people to protect themselves, their communities and the NHS.
The campaign focuses on educating people about the effects of flu, as well as encouraging them to pre-book their vaccination to ‘beat the queue to beat the flu’ and to do their bit for #communityimmunity.
“People have understood the value of good hand hygiene, wearing a face mask and social distancing during the coronavirus outbreak – we now need them to understand the value of having a flu jab,” said Deep Patel, vaccination services manager at LloydsPharmacy. “Our priority over the coming months is to help protect the communities we serve and keep people out of hospital. Many of those who are at risk of flu are also considered more vulnerable to Covid-19 so it’s essential we urge these groups, and those around them, to get vaccinated this year.”
LloydsPharmacy says early indications suggest it is likely to see a 50 per cent increase in the uptake of the flu vaccination this year across its 1,400 pharmacies.
