Masons introduces Robotik
The Coalville branch of small independent pharmacy group, Masons Chemists, has become the first pharmacy in Leicestershire to introduce automation.
ACT Sian Hopgood fills the Robotik robot
The group has purchased the Robotik Technology robot to help with its medication management services designed to improve patient adherence. The computerised system produces strips of individual pouches of medicines for patients as an alternative to blister trays. Each pouch displays the patient's name, a description of the contents and the time of day the medicine should be taken.
Jane Lumb, group pharmacy director at Masons Chemists, said: €We always felt that robotic technologies were out of our reach and too expensive, but our investment is proving already worthwhile as it has helped us to reduce our costs and grow our business.€
