New research has demonstrated how Vamousse Protective Shampoo protects against head lice by killing lice before they are detected.

The proprietary modelling study revealed how the Shampoo eradicates a head lice infestation before it can take hold, breaking the cycle of infestation.

The results of the study are significant in relation to how mums can prepare for and protect against head lice. Successful protection from head lice relies on the eradication of head lice and hatching nymphs in an undetected infestation as demonstrated in the study. The in-vitro trial showed that regular application of Vamousse Protective Shampoo over the trial period killed lice and nymphs as they emerged from the remaining eggs resulting in eradication after 11 days.

Vamousse Protective Shampoo was applied every day to an initial head lice infestation of five fertilised females. Its efficacy was modelled against a typical head lice cycle using a mixed life stage and age model which calculates population growth rates, showing that without the use of Vamousse Protective Shampoo the lice infestation grows quickly.

The study was led by Jason Schmidt, Director of Research & Development at TyraTech Inc., an entomologist with population modelling experience developed academically and during tenure at Centers For Disease Control USA.

Daily use of Vamousse Protective Shampoo was shown to break the cycle of infestation after 11 days.
