Ninety eight per cent of independent pharmacies using e-CASS, Cambrian Alliance's price comparison stock ordering tool, say it has helped increase their profits, according to a survey by the buying group. The results have been released as Cambrian Alliance launches e-CASS2, an improved version of the software, which can deal with out-of-stocks.
When a product is unavailable with the best-priced supplier, the new system automatically moves to the next cheapest supplier until the order is placed. Martin Parry (pictured), owner of Parry's Pharmacy in South Wales, said: €My staff are also able to maximise our income from the paid-for services in pharmacy because they have more time to do so thanks to the way in which e-CASS has made our ordering process simpler and much quicker.€
