Pharmacists are the most trusted professionals, according to a survey for the British Veterinary Association and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
The survey of over 2,000 adults from across Britain found that 97 per cent of people either "generally trusted" or "completely trusted" pharmacists, and 87 per cent were either satisfied or very satisfied with the service they receive from pharmacists. Opticians, vets, GPs and dentists were close behind on both counts, with results ranging from 90-95 per cent for trust and 77-82 per cent for satisfaction.
All the health professionals ranked higher for trust than (in descending order) head teachers, police officers, accountants, solicitors and social workers. Only 67 per cent of those surveyed trusted social workers, while accountants were ranked lowest for service satisfaction with 55 per cent satisfied or very satisfied.
