Giles Pharmacy in Warndon, Worcestershire, has won the 2015 Alphega Pharmacy National Award.

Monika and Archie Unger, who run Giles Pharmacy, were honoured for their impressive customer care, exceptionally high standards, investment in staff facilities and focus on development. The husband and wife team have been presented with a cheque for £5,000 and one place for an all-expenses paid trip to the next Alphega Pharmacy Europe Convention.

Business mentor, Miles Benstead, who nominated Giles Pharmacy, said: “After an extensive refit, and empowering their team with leadership and decision-making capabilities, this pharmacy now has a new lease of life. It offers a wide range of services, including smoking cessation, flu vaccinations and NHS health checks, and Monika and Archie are truly committed Alphega members, who provide a great example of the best in community pharmacy.”

Mr and Mrs Unger say: “We are absolutely delighted to win the 2015 Alphega Pharmacy National Award. The staff and customers at our pharmacy mean the world to us and it’s incredibly gratifying that our hard work and effort has been recognised. We are honoured to receive this accolade and look forward to attending the Alphega Pharmacy Europe Convention, where we hope to learn new methods to continue to improve our pharmacy as well as meet fellow industry professionals.”
