PharmaPlus trains pharmacists on diabetes

Over 50 pharmacists attended PharmaPlus training workshops on business and clinical matters on April 12 in London.

Pharmacists learned how to overcome the current challenges in managing type-2 diabetes and how to put their clinical knowledge into practice. Sessions were also held on setting up services such as vaccinations and travel clinics.

Hiten Patel, managing director of PharmaPlus, said: €A huge number of people in the UK suffer from type-2 diabetes who are unaware of the condition. We as pharmacists have a role to play in managing the condition as well as minimising other health risks of patients. PharmaPlus has organised these events to provide pharmacists with the necessary understanding to ensure excellence in pharmaceutical practice.

€As an organisation, PharmaPlus sincerely believes that community pharmacy has a much greater role to play in healthcare. We aim to bring regular business and clinical training seminars to help our members and community pharmacists develop the skills and infrastructure to support them in providing these clinical services.€
