Independent pharmacies are set to benefit from a new partnership between national pharmacy wholesaler, Bestway Medhub, and one of the country’s largest pharmacy buying groups, the Cambrian Alliance Group.
The agreement sees Bestway Medhub become one of the group’s official supplier partners for generics, parallel imports, over-the-counter pharmacy products and dressings.
Launched in 2000, the Cambrian Alliance Group puts out to tender more than 6,000 items every month backed by a negotiating strength of more than £0.5 billion. Now with 1,200 members, the group represents one of the country’s largest independent pharmacy memberships.Â
Faysal Uddin, director of sales and operations at Bestway Medhub said: “We are thrilled to be chosen as a new supplier for the Cambrian Alliance Group, not only because they’re one of the leading buying groups in the UK, but because we have a shared vision – to ensure independent pharmacies survive and prosper.
“We’ve already opened over 20 new accounts just at the Cambrian Alliance Convention, and our partnership opens up our service to around 1,200 new pharmacies that may not have previously had easy access. Our relationship has clear benefits for our customers, ensuring they get the best price for every product, and an excellent customer service experience from beginning to endâ€.
Paul Davies, chief executive of Cambrian Alliance Group believes the move will give members greater access to better prices. “Our driving goal is to help all members grow their businesses and increase their profits, and this new partnership strengthens our commitment to achieving this ambition,†he said.
