National pharmacy wholesaler, Bestway Medhub (part of the Bestway Group) has expanded into Northern Ireland. It says it is looking to work with the 250+ independent pharmacy outlets in the territory. 

Faysal Uddin, director of sales and operations at Bestway Medhub commented: “There is a huge opportunity for us in Northern Ireland and we’re excited to shake up the market and be able to offer our customers there something different. 

“Backed by the largest independent wholesale business in the UK, we provide over 900 pharmacies with better product availability, more competitive pricing and an integrated Dispensing Appliance Contractor that no other short-line supplier is able to offer.”

The Dispensing Appliance Contractor is Wardles (also part of Bestway Medhub) which offers a dispensing process that creates a new way of driving profit for independent pharmacists through its agency scheme.

The move follows a strong year for the wholesaler, with May 2017 year-to-date sales up 107% compared to the previous year, and an 88% increase in the number of accounts serviced.
