Consumers get ready for 'a summer of love'

New research from Viagra Connect reveals that 72 per cent of men aged 25-34 years are planning to visit a pharmacy to stock up on sexual health products in preparation for what manufacturer Viatris has declared “a post lockdown summer of love”.

The same applies to almost three-quarters (74 per cent) of respondents who experience erection problems, the company adds.

The survey found that almost half (43 per cent) of men aged 25-34 years and 22 per cent of all adults expect to have more sex this summer than they did throughout lockdown.

Rob Elliott, marketing director, Viatris, comments: “Pharmacists can expect an increase in footfall and should prepare in advance to ensure sexual health categories are well stocked and staff feel confident to advise consumers across an array of different sexual health needs, including advice around erection problems.”

To support this anticipated uplift in footfall, Viagra Connect is launching a consumer advertising campaign that will run from July to September featuring the award-winning ‘Love Story’ creative backed by a range of marketing materials including window posters.

A TV commercial will feature the Viagra Connect trial size two-tablet pack, which the company hopes will make it easier for men and their partners to re-connect this summer.
