Care relaunches training programme

Care has relaunched its free NPA-approved training programme as part of its on-going commitment to support UK pharmacy teams at the forefront of treating minor health concerns.

Developed by the makers of Care and stamped with the NPA Quality Seal, the Pharmacy Assistant Training Programme has been updated and redesigned to suit the rigorous demands of modern-day pharmacy.

Recognising the increasing need for pharmacy staff to be well-informed about the causes and treatment of minor health conditions to provide advice to patients was pivotal to the relaunch.

The NPA Quality Seal is the gold standard ‘seal of approval’ which is recognised as endorsing only the highest quality training material.

The modules aim to increase knowledge of some of the most commonly encountered conditions in pharmacy through easy to understand information in a learner-friendly format.

Care has also digitally optimised the training to make access both effortless and convenient through its carehcp.co.uk website training hub or the newly launched Care HCP app ‘The Ultimate Guide to Care’ – now available to download from Google Play and the App store.

Pharmacy staff can complete as many modules as they like, in any order and at their own pace.

To access the online training hub, users simply need to log in to their existing carehcp.co.uk account or register at www.carehcp.co.uk/train

There are six modules with a certificate – featuring the NPA Quality Seal - awarded on the successful completion of each.

They include Cough & Cold; Junior Health; Pains & Strains; Female Health; Skin Health and Ear & Mouth.

Printed workbooks will be available later in the year and can be ordered from carewebsite@thorntonross.com.

Care has further invested in their supportive training resources with the launch of a ‘Wellbeing at Work’ training module which provides practical advice and tools to help improve work-life balance and productivity in pharmacy.

It has been co-authored with an expert panel including previous practicing pharmacists to ensure real relevance, particularly to newly qualified pharmacists, and is available to complete via the website training hub.

Care ViraSoothe has partnered with online child health education specialists Health Professional Academy to provide free, expert led CPD chickenpox training to support staff in advising parents and carers of children with the virus.

The ‘Chickenpox: Signs, symptoms and treatment options’ module is based on the latest NHS and NICE guidelines and research and available at www.healthprofessionalacademy.co.uk/child-health/learn/chickenpox-signs-symptoms-and-treatment-options.

Alongside training, registering on Care’s HCP website offers free access to the brand’s resources including the newly launched in-store digital TV platform, Care PharmaTV; in-depth information on Care’s extensive product range; patient self-treatment advice; topical blogs and industry insights.

Pharmacy staff can register free at www.carehcp.co.uk
