A study by GSK Consumer Healthcare and Ipsos has revealed the need to improve public awareness of good oral care to overall health.

Eighty-five per cent of respondents agreed with the statement ‘I believe good oral healthcare can benefit my overall health beyond just my mouth,’ dropping to 80 per cent in the UK - 29 per cent are unaware good oral health can support a healthier pregnancy.

Only 40 per cent were aware of the link between oral health and diabetes and the impact on controlling blood sugar levels.
