Jenny Gilruth, MSP for Mid Fife and Glenrothes, has lodged a motion in the Scottish Parliament in recognition of Cadham Pharmacy in Glenrothes, which recently won two accolades at the Scottish Pharmacy Awards.
Kara Brown won Pharmacy Manager of the Year, and the Cadham Pharmacy team, led by Bernadette Brown, received the Pharmacy Practice of the Year 2016 award.
The motion requests that the Parliament recognises that this success demonstrates the commitment, dedication and hard work of all members of staff at the pharmacy, notes that Cadham Pharmacy has previously been nominated for awards at a national level, considers that it provides the people of Glenrothes and the community of Cadham with an excellent pharmacy service and wishes the staff all the very best for the future.
Ms Gilruth said: “I am delighted to support Bernadette and Kara Brown and the fantastic team at Cadham Pharmacy, who provide a first-rate service to the people of Cadham and Glenrothes and are fully deserving of these awards.â€
Bernadette Brown said: “We are absolutely delighted Jenny has lodged this motion – we are truly humbled and honoured. We would also like to thank all the people who have and continue to support our family business and also, of course, must thank our wonderful, hard-working team here at Cadham Pharmacy."
Cadham Pharmacy won the Pharmacy Team of the Year Award in the Independent Pharmacy Awards 2015 (ICP, May, p26). Bernadette Brown is an independent prescriber who runs clinics for GPs in Cadham Pharmacy and a GPs’ surgery. She has recently won a grant to be a Prescription for Excellence pilot site, which will enable her to extend her clinical work.
