Goal and objectives


To review guidance on sleep and recommended approaches to managing insomnia.


After completing this module, you should be more aware of:

·       what is considered an appropriate amount of sleep and how this changes with age;

·       sleep hygiene and factors which may result in poor sleep quality and possible consequences;

·       obstructive sleep apnoea risk factors and management;

·       the 2017 European guideline on the diagnosis and treatment of insomnia.
