Optimise business performance
NPA members are being invited to sign up for a free three-month trial of the Pro Delivery Manager app. The member-offer follows a decision by the NPA to invest in the app. Other measures are being planned
The app already helps many pharmacies streamline deliveries, improve record keeping and enhance patient safety and will be future proofed to meet forthcoming data protection requirements and other legislative obligations.
The app was first devised by Gary Jones, a community pharmacist and managing director of PDM, after his delivery driver asked for a month’s leave. Mr Jones, of Borth Pharmacy, in mid-Wales, discovered there were no other products on the market that would meet his needs and set about devising his own. He worked with specialists to design an app suitable for any small or medium sized business, but with key and unique functionality for pharmacists.
Ani Patel, from Savages Pharmacy, Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex, is one of over a thousand people who have downloaded the app. He said: “We started using Pro Delivery Manager a few months ago and after fi nding a mobile provider that works in our area, we have had nothing but smooth sailing with this app. It has transformed the way in which our deliveries are created, sorted and sent out on the rounds. It saves us an hour a day at least in preparing associated paperwork and audit trails.
“The pinpoint accuracy of the delivery vehicle on route gives us fl exibility on re-routing the driver as necessary without waiting for them to come back to the pharmacy and sending them back out again. The detailed daily reports also help us refi ne the delivery service and look to match man hours with the amount of work there is in this part of the business. All in all for any pharmacy looking to streamline and modernise the delivery process, Pro Delivery Manager is a must.â€
A free three-month is open to NPA members who register before the end of the year. Visit prodeliverymanager.com for more information.
