Alphega members were told that the "chemistry for success" involves reaching critical mass and leadership at their UK conference in Telford on May 9-10.
General Manager of Alphega Pharmacy UK Sue Moore told the more than 350 delegates that: €Alphega Pharmacy exists in order to bring independent pharmacies together and create something very powerful."
"My job is to make sure Alphega Pharmacy members in the UK can come together to form a critical mass and achieve standards of business performance which no independent pharmacy could achieve on its own.€
Sue Moore explains Alphega's new services to delegates
Alphega services developed over the past year include:
- The PERFORM pilot programme, which involves a series of integrated visits from Alphega's consultant pharmacist, in-depth training for team members, the promotion of locally commissioned professional services and accreditation as an Alphega Health and Wellbeing Pharmacy
- Development of a staff profiling tool to help members understand how their current staffing compares with optimal staffing based on dispensing, professional services offered and retail sales
- Individually branded e-commerce websites for Alphega members that allow them to offer patients a wider range of products, as well as 'click and collect' and home delivery options
- The Alphega Pharmacy Retail Partnership, which provides members with full, free access to practical retail planning skills and supplier relationships, normally restricted to larger chains.
Alphega Pharmacy is also launching a new leadership development programme, designed by occupational psychologists, later this year. The programme explores two leadership philosophies, mindfulness and empowerment, and how combining the two can have a transformational impact on the staff that pharmacists lead in their business.
