Sigma named national business champion

Pharmacy wholesaler Sigma has been named as a national champion for the UK in the European Business Awards.

The Awards are Europe’s largest business competition and this year engaged with over 33,000 businesses from 34 countries. Sigma was chosen after the first phase of judging by an independent panel, having been evaluated for innovation, ethics and success.

Sigma marketing director Rajiv Shah said: ‘The announcement is a fitting accolade for the company's performance over the past year. Battling against ever demanding customer requirements and the need to keep the bottom line attractive to pharmacy, Sigma have bucked the current trend by delivering consistent customer focused service for this prestigious award.”

The next round of the competition requires national champions to make a presentation video, telling their unique story and explaining their business success. The judges will award the best of this group the ‘Ruban d’Honneur’ status and the selected companies will go on to the gala final in 2017.

Separately, in a two-stage public vote, the videos will be hosted on the EBA website, and the company that receives the most votes in its own country will become the ‘National Public Champion’. Last year over 227,000 votes were cast.Sigm
