Pharmacist Support appoints new chief executive

The charity Pharmacist Support has appointed a new chief executive to fill the void left by the departure of Diane Leicester-Hallam last year.

Danielle Hunt (pictured), who is operations director at Keep Britain Tidy, will take up her new role on January 23 having helped the national environmental charity move away from government support and become entirely self-funded.

During her 10 years at the helm, Keep Britain Tidy raised millions of pounds through fundraising and service contracts. Pharmacist Support said Hunt would be supported in the role by “a team of 11 members of staff and nine trustees.”

“I’m incredibly excited to be joining Pharmacist Support, leading the charity through its next phase of development. The charity has achieved a huge amount in the last 10 years and this work has never been so important,” she said.

“I look forward to working with the staff, volunteers, the board of trustees and others in the sector to develop the organisation and ensure we continue to support pharmacists and their families in the best way possible.”

Steve Lutener, recently appointed chair of the Pharmacist Support trustee board, said: “The charity has undergone a period of significant growth over the past 10 years and Danielle’s experience will ensure that the profession’s independent charity continues to move forward with confidence. She has proven leadership qualities and service development expertise which will prove invaluable in the future.”
