Alphega Pharmacy UK member, Sally Arnison, from Barnton Pharmacy in Edinburgh, has been awarded an MBE for her service to healthcare and her local community.

Speaking of the recent accolade, Arnison said: “I am totally amazed
to receive this honour and really proud. Patient care is at the heart of everything we do at Barnton Pharmacy and this recognition goes to show the progress we are making, and the impact we have on our patients in our community.”

Arnison has also received notable recognition within the industry in recent years. In 2017 she became a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical and in 2016, Barnton Pharmacy was awarded the Alphega Pharmacy Regional Award for North and East Scotland, at the Alphega Pharmacy UK Conference, for its support to its local communities, and the essential services it provides to improve the health and wellbeing of its customers.

Over the years, Arnison and her team have implemented a wide range of services including: free hearing checks, blood pressure checks, help to stop smoking and lose weight, and also skincare consultations. The pharmacy also offers an award winning dementia- friendly service, to provide patients and their families with the knowledge and support they need.
