New modules looking at malaria prevention, smoking cessation and hay fever are now available Pharmacy teams are able to access several new Continuing Professional Development (CPD) modules through the NPA CPD Hub. Each e-learning module can be completed in about 15 minutes.

Topics covered in the new modules include:

• Hay fever guidance focussing on how to tailor advice for different patient needs and considering OTC treatments; also introduces Benacort nasal spray, the new Pharmacy (P) only medicine 
• OTC malaria prevention guidance for pharmacy technicians – including information on the P medicine, MaloffProtect 
• Smoking cessation training for medicines counter assistants 

In addition, the NPA CPD Hub offers free access to up-to-date clinical articles, learning records and research studies in one place. Learning articles for pharmacy teams on children’s health, sexual health and women’s health have also been added this month. The CPD Hub offers over-the-counter (OTC) learning and clinical modules and is available to all members of the pharmacy team; it has the added facility of allowing pharmacists to monitor the learning and development of their team.
