A new NHS app that supports the safe prescribing, administering and monitoring of lithium is now available to patients free of charge.

Developed by the pharmacy service at South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust (SWLSTG), the app records information on patients' up-to-date blood test results - required before dispensing a supply of lithium from a hospital or community pharmacy. Although the app is focused on lithium medicine management, the wider aim is to develop a framework which can be adapted for a broad range of medicines.
