The results of the NPA board elections for 2018-2022 have been released.

Contested ballots in seven NPA board regions have resulted in the following NPA members being elected to the board of management:

Area 3, East Midlands: Jay Badenhorst
Area 4, East Anglia: Anil Sharma
Area 6, South East: Amish Patel
Area 7, Home Counties South: Reena Barai
Area 9, Home Counties North: Andrew Lane
Area 12, West Midlands: Nitin Sodha
Area 14, Greater Manchester and North West: Raj Patel.

Ms Barai, who is the owner of S G Barai Pharmacy in Sutton, is believed to be the first Asian female pharmacy owner to be elected to the NPA board and is the only woman on the new board. She told Pharmacy Magazine: “I'm humbled to have been elected and feel privileged to have been chosen by my fellow contractors to represent them. I have aspired to this role and am really keen to make a difference.”

NPA head of communications, Stephen Fishwick, said: “We are delighted to have Reena join the NPA board, as she brings a great deal of energy, insight and acumen as well as considerable communications skills.”
