Teva launches 'Get it Right' inhaler campaign

Teva Pharmaceuticals Europe BV has launched ‘Get it Right’, an awareness campaign aiming to boost correct asthma inhaler use.

Poor inhaler technique has been linked to poor asthma outcomes, and the literature suggests shortcomings in correct asthma inhaler use is a key factor in optimal management, with 90% of people living with asthma making at least one inhaler technique error when using their device.1

A multi-channel, social media initiative, ‘Get it Right’ kicks-off on April 24, and runs through to World Asthma Day on 2 May.

The campaign encourages people affected by asthma to spread the message on social media of ‘Get it Right’ when using asthma inhalers with the dedicated hashtag #Getitright and #worldasthmaday.

It also invites healthcare professionals to join a livestream broadcast on 6 June, 2017 on the ‘dos / don’ts’ of inhaler technique.

“Teva is committed to delivering new, innovative solutions to support the asthma community,” said Janice Canvin, senior medical director, Teva Respiratory. “Ongoing education is of paramount importance.”

In the UK, there are 5.4 million people with asthma, which means asthma affects one in every 11 people in the UK and one in five UK households.2
