RPS relocates to new East London HQ

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society is set to move to its new East London headquarters next week (June 29).

The relocation to refurbished premises at 66-68 East Smithfield will give members access to modern meeting and conference facilities. The building is equipped with an auditorium style conference suite and separate event space, with wifi and the latest audio visual technology available throughout the building.

RPS members are invited to visit and make use of a drop-in café hub and atrium library on the ground floor. The location is accessible via local public transport links, including the Thames River Bus.

RPS treasurer and chair of the RPS relocation board Sid Dajani said: “This relocation of our HQ was funded from the sale of our Lambeth building and the move brings a substantial saving of £500,000 a year in running costs for the RPS. With this successful relocation completed we now have an excellent London base which we are encouraging RPS members to use.”

The new headquarters are in the East London borough of Tower Hamlets, near St Katharine Docks and Tower Hill, with views of London landmarks such as The Gherkin, The Shard and Canary Wharf. In celebration of the diversity of its new home community, the building features a new glass frontage, displaying a multi-language word montage in 24 different languages alongside the Society’s crest.

A new RPS museum, which will be open to the public, is due to open at the site later this summer.
