Pharmacy Voice launches patient safety survey

Pharmacy Voice has launched anonymous patient safety survey for pharmacy staff.

The survey, which follows the establishment of a Patient Safety Group within the organisation, aims to provide current insight to the patient safety culture and practice across the community pharmacy sector from the perspective of frontline teams. The anonymous and easy-to-complete survey is focused on patient safety incident reporting and learning process in place within businesses and any barriers to reporting. It will be open until early February and Pharmacy Voice will share information on the findings later in the year.

Janice Perkins, pharmacy superintendent of Well and chair of the Patient Safety Group, said: “Pharmacy Voice’s Patient Safety Group would like to identify any obstacles which prevent open and honest reporting in community pharmacies and find out more about the safety culture across the sector. Contributions from frontline pharmacy teams provided through this survey will be really useful in helping us shape our future patient safety work and lobbying activities, with a view to enabling easier reporting and more valuable learning for pharmacy teams across all parts of the sector. The community pharmacy companies represented on our Patient Safety Group are happy for their pharmacies to get involved in this anonymous survey and share their views.”

Pharmacists and their staff can take part in the survey via the Pharmacy Voice website.
