PAGB supports NHS winter campaign

The Proprietary Association of Great Britain is working with NHS England and Public Health England on the national winter campaign, ‘Stay Well This Winter’, instead of running the 'Treat Yourself Better' campaign.

The Stay Well This Winter campaign, which launched on October 15, will communicate a range of messages around staying healthy over the winter months and using NHS services appropriately. These include encouraging people to visit the pharmacist for winter ailments and promoting the flu jab.

John Smith, PAGB chief executive, said: “PAGB has been calling on the government to implement national public education campaigns on self care to ensure one message is consistently delivered at the national and local level, as we believe this is more effective than numerous different campaigns trying to communicate the same message in different ways. As a result, we took the decision not to run the Treat Yourself Better campaign this year. We have, however, been working with Public Health England to ensure the experience and learning from Treat Yourself Better informed the development of Stay Well This Winter.”

PAGB has also produced a leaflet to support the campaign, ‘When will I feel better?’, which explains how long people can expect cough and cold symptoms to last, what they can do to get better and the warning signs which mean they may need to seek professional advice.
