NPA board members celebrate Diwali at No 10

NPA board members Nitin Sodha (pictured) and Raj Aggarwal celebrated Diwali with prime minister David Cameron at Number 10 Downing Street this week.

Vice-chairman Mr Sodha said: “The PM spoke eloquently about the values of Dharma, the contributions made by British Asians to the country and the special relationship with India. We felt privileged to be invited and wish everyone 'Nutan Varsh Abhinandan', or Happy New Year”.

Board member for Wales Raj Aggarwal was selected to be part of the official welcoming arrangements for the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mr Aggarwal attended a parliamentary reception and appeared in a community welcome video hosted on the Downing Street Facebook page.

Mr Aggarwal, who is India’s Honorary Consul in Wales, said: “For a pharmacist to be selected to participate at these occasions surely says something good about our profession. It is a great privilege for me to be with the prime ministers of two countries in the same week, and the Welsh First Minister too.”
