The Independent Community Pharmacist is a monthly magazine and dedicated web resource specifically for independent retail pharmacists.

There are some 12500 pharmacies in the UK, these are divided into two distinct groups:

- The multiples, making up around half the total number of outlets dominated by Alliance Boots, and Lloyds

- The Independents, comprising single outlets and small chains, also making up around half the total number of outlets

Because The Independent Community Pharmacist only goes to independents we are able to deliver a unique editorial content tailored specifically to their needs and reflecting their views and concerns.

Since its launch in 1990, The Independent Community Pharmacist has remained a firm favourite with independents. Click here to download the latest independent readership research. Edited by Douglas Simpson, with a career spanning some 30 years in pharmaceutical publishing, and a fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society its editorial credentials are second to none.

The Independent Community Pharmacist is the official journal of The Independent Pharmacy Federation, reporting and commenting on those issues which affect the interests of independents throughout the UK.

2008 has seen the launch of the Independent Pharmacy Health Focus Programme, an ICP initiative to help independents build effective local marketing campaigns around key national health awareness dates such as National Allergy week, National Eczema week, Melanoma awareness week etc. Click here for more information.
